Emoticons

Why can't I insert an emoticon in the middle of text? everytime I try to insert one it jumps to the end of the text. Not here

Ie, if I try now to insert a 'Twisted Evil' after the first sentence it appears here -

When you insert an emoticon, all it does is paste the apropriate text in at the end of where you are typing... so either put them in as you type, or put it in, then highlight the inserted text, cut it and paste it where you want (or indeed, type it out...)

this is why when you do lists of points, you get an emoticon at number 8, because 8 ) is an emoticon when you don't put a space in it: 8)

1), 2), 3), 4), 5), 6), 7), 8), 9), etc

and 18 does it too: 18)

but you can type ': wink :' without spaces and you get

Having said all that, my emoticons are inserted where ever the cursor is at the time...
No, no... I've seen it done....

With Internet Explorer 8 I can put emoticons where I last placed the cursor.
With FireFox 3.6.7 the emoticons just appear at the end, regardless of the cursor position.

click on 'view more smilies' and a 'pop-up' window should appear with 3 pages of smilies, and those that you speak of are still there... if we put too many on the selection panel it'll take ages to load, but I could change it so the whole lot load up for instant insertion if it appeases?? :geek:

The original smilies we had are:
:D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :!: :?:   :|  :geek: :chav:  :hmfff: :gear: :gimp: :gaptooth: :loon: :viking: :thumb: :weep: :help: :luv: :flame: :lol2: :coffee: :coffee2: :hide: :pc: :OT: :badjoke: :bike1: :bike2: :bike3: :puke:

New ones added are:
:blink :pirate: :naughty: :shakehand: :bomb: :chainsaw: :duel: :hammer: :sniper: :moony: :butt: :drunk: :fart: :wife: :grouphug: :peck: :sunshine: :hope:  :filth: :banghead: :swearing: :foottap: :dunce: :nerner: :nutty: :chopping: :ebay: :hal:  :jiggy:  :ballons: :sos: :cartman: :kenny: :kyle: :stan: :spam: :plusone: :blond: :google: :silent:  :badidea: :goodidea: :tired: :hello: :wtf:    :shhh:

there are loads more that I uploaded, but didn't turn on... if we feel the need for even more smilies, gives us a shout!
