I'm leading it, usual start time / meeting point - 9.00am Gorilla Car Park High Lodge.

I have the 'bible' and have been through it with Dave ( :? ) Can't remember exactly what we agreed on plan of action (at work at the moment) but will discuss with Dave before weekend.

Right, problems have been gotten around and solved thanks to some lateral thinking by Mark and Dave so we should be able to hit the ground running on Saturday! :D

We should be able to really make some headway on Saturday and the more hands we have the bigger the impact! 8)

The plan for Saturday is to pull out (using Rhinos/Rakes) the loose soil from the trail and then whacker the snot out of the base and put a couple of inches of soil back then whacker...

...it does look very sandy/dusty, so I am not 100% how successful this will be, but we are learning, an if it needs it, we can always apply for some stone via an OPS1 or find some soil t bind the dust together... (or if you find some chalk in a borrow pit, so much the better!)... does anyone have a large water tank to wet the ground with during the whackering?

If we get enough people, Graham will pinch someone and go off to do some veggie maintenence... (so remember 2 radios!)... and if we really get enough people, Moe has a secret mission for them!

Peter... assuming you're gonna be there... can you make sure you stay with Moe's team as Moe isn't First Aid qualified...

Graham... see... what were you worrying about?

Liam... I won't be there on saturday, but i would still, very much like to rid you of the wood... You can leave the wood in the container if you like and I can collect during next week... let me know if you want anything for them...

Worrying about stuff is my job :naughty: (NB: Web Pixie we need a sticky outey tongue smiley)

I'll be there, I am first aid ticketed so if push comes to shove thats covered. If the ground is too dusty the deal is pull soil back to expose bottom of trench and wacker the bottom which should be moist immediately after being cleared. (Whats happened up there? you lot not had the rain of the last few days???? Absolutely pished down round here!!)

Rich and I can't make it (Christening in Somerset, hoping to get rides in the Quantocks and Cwm Carn though....) Interested to know where you're planning on working though (did I miss that bit?) then we can make saure we ride it or at least ride by it next time we're there!

@ alison... please don't ride it for a bit... it'll need to rest! The plan is to spend a couple (or three) build days moving the soil (sand/dust) and whackering it to make the trail, then leaving it to settle for a couple of months...

The section in question is the farthest bit of the East loop on the Red... the bit where it turns north away from FR10 and goes through blocks 86 & 52 (I think they're the right numbers)

And wrt the rain... yes the top 3 mm of sand/dust were moist, but due to the trees sucking it all up, once you dig down it disappears! hence why I was thinking if someone had a tank of water to spread over the ground as you were whackering to create mud... then let it set...??? :? (or add some cement... )

Dave, we'll move the soil off and create the bed, if we can't wacker we can't, but if we just move the soil and creat the trench that will be a good days work.

Incidentally, is that which I might be using tomorrow comfy and cozy in the big green box??
