Trail Day 21/04/2012

Postby jt » Tue Mar 27, 2012 6:59 pm

Meet at Gorilla car park, High Lodge (first on left) 09:30 for a 10:00 start.

Details of exactly what we will be doing are still to be agreed with the FC but the intention is to continue work on the new family route. As soon as the method statements are available, I will provide links.

Any questions feel free to ask, but read the FAQ first.

Please post to say if you intend to attend - thanks.

DON'T FORGET A TOTAL OF JUST 24 HOURS* OF YOUR TIME WILL EARN YOU A FREE DISCOVERY PASS, GIVING YOU FREE ACCESS TO HIGHLODGE
* We have decided to work your entitlement out in hours rather than days to allow for people that are only able to help out for shorter periods.

Sorry I'm on call again. I've been on a 1-in-2 rotation since Christmas which really messes up my weekends.

I'll be there for this one.
At least we shouldn't have trouble with the ground being too dry this time!

How did it go? I need to know the state of play for next weeks build day. So a status update would be good.

Later: Doh2: The photos on the website make it look like you had a productive day. Did you add any stone to the surface before compaction? I'm guessing you didn't manage to finish the whole track?!

Good job guys, what did it look like after all that rain? Are the drainage trenches doing their job?

From the photos I've seen it looks great!

How much stone did you use... was it 1:2 kind of ratio or more thinly scattered?

Can't wait to get the Bomag out and give it a good seeing too!

Dave don't use the s word! ;-)

It worked really well, got the muck levelled out then scattered over a good amount of :silent: then stamped about on it for a bit to push it into the soft dirt and firm it up, gave it a wack and jobs a goodun. I think this fact it was quite moist really helped. Looks like it will be a good technique to have up our sleeves
