Ride over the weekend?

Postby Haffa » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:30 pm

Is there a social ride this weekend or a group I can join with who dont mind if im a touch slower?

Im new to mtb and looking to join up, just want to come and meet a few people first.

Im available all this weekend, any day or time, I can manage 11 miles ok probably more if I take it easy.

Im in weeting so bcp, high lodge or local lanes are easy to get to.

Cheers, Mark.

As a new member to the forum, who may be interested in joining in on trail building, I too would like to come along for a ride and meet one or two people. Is it ok to join you two Saturday?

Yea red you're welcome to join us. Saturdays weather looks ok so lets say 10.30 BCP car park? I'll be in a blue ford focus with a black and red specialized bike on the back.

Thanks guys ... 10:30 it is.

Looks like Saturday will be the only decent day, not allowed to use a hose to clean the bike down after a ride so it will have to be a nice dry day.

See you at bcp, I'll be riding up from weeting and optomistically riding back :)

Has anyone read the fine print on the hosepipe ban? I went through it word for word and it does not ban you from using a hosepipe for cleaning a pedal cycle. Anything motorised is out. You can find it on the anglia water site, bit of a trawl. People will probably still have a moan but its very specific on what is banned. Read it yourself, dont take my word for it :)

If I'm allowed a hosepipe for the bike, I could lean the bike against the car when I'm washing it !
I'm getting stir crazy due to the weather, it's stopped raining, I have my bike in the car, I'm going for a ride after work ... weather be damned!

Ride over the weekend?

I may be able to swing a trip on Sunday, anyone else free? Bonus points for off-piste, I've only been on the red recently... :-(

Can't make Saturday due to outlaws, but I'm aiming for the Monday ride (weather permitting... bbc says monday will be a bit wet!)... so if anyone is worried about being the slowest... worry no longer!

Plus I've got a new camera and I wanna try it on some riders... although unless it's dry, that will stay indoors!
No, no... I've seen it done....

Plans changed, I'll probably just squeeze in a local ride. Thanks for the offer though teeds, I've only ridden around SD once.

The red was pretty good with only a few sloppy areas, diversions are in place were the new surface has been laid at the beginning of the long loop.
