The Timber AGM is rushing up on us and I don’t want you to miss the opportunity to have a say in how things are done in the future. Please make sure you have Thursday April 5th pencilled into your diaries and the location at the Santon Downham Class room keyed into the Sat Nav.
We’ve had a very positive 2 years, going from a situation where the group looked ready to fold and 3 of the key members resigning to one where we are in really good shape, with the nucleus of a new committee ready to pick the reins up and .steer us into the future.
In that time we’ve acquired not one, but 2 storage containers for our kit, replaced worn out tools, bought a new wacker plate, had our first trip to Wales, been allowed to drive our own vehicles into the forest, run our own build days without FC supervision, developed our own modus operandi, virtually completed work on the Red Route, (something that looked like a 19 year task when we started out in 2006), become the first trail group in the UK to be allowed to use mobile plant, obtained the Kanga loader and now have a BOMAG compactor going into the toy cupboard to name but a few of the achievements.
What we really need more than anything now is an injection of zest and vigour to carry this good work and to move onwards and upwards. Specifically we are looking for people who see problems as opportunities and who aren’t limited by lack of vision. We can be and do anything we choose to be.
Cheers G Outgoing Chairman TIMBER
